REED Marketing & Creative are pleased to be working with an educational charity based close to Cirencester, Gloucestershire on their Director of Communications & Engagement hire. This pivotal role aims to significantly enhance the charity's profile and supporter base through strategic communications and robust engagement initiatives. You will be instrumental in developing their brand narrative and fostering meaningful relationships to support our mission of creating an environmentally engaged society.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and embed the brand narrative across all internal and external communications, ensuring a cohesive and compelling story.
  • Lead proactive supporter engagement and communication campaigns to increase their profile and develop its audience base across local, regional, and national levels.
  • Spearhead innovative digital communication strategies to enhance engagement and outreach.
  • Conduct regular analysis on the effectiveness of communication strategies and make data-driven adjustments to maximise reach and engagement.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, enhancing their visibility and support.
  • Represent at various events and meetings, acting as a key ambassador for our mission and values.
  • Lead and manage the Communications & Engagement team, promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience in a senior communications, marketing, or audience development role.  This can be within a charity or non-profit organisation, or a commercial based business.
  • Proven track record in brand development, storytelling, and executing strategic communications plans.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team effectively.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, planning, and execution skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A strategic thinker with a balance of long-term vision and practical execution skills.
