This role involves CNC programming, setting up CNC machines, operating them to produce precise parts, and performing manual machining tasks such as turning, milling, grinding, and general machining. The CNC & Conventional Machinist plays a vital role in manufacturing high-quality components that meet precise specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and modify CNC programs using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software based on engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements.
Set up CNC machines, including loading and aligning tools, fixtures, and workpieces, and verifying machine settings to ensure accuracy.
Operate CNC machines to produce parts according to specifications, monitor machine performance, and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and productivity.
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machines to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Perform manual machining tasks such as milling, turning, drilling, and grinding on conventional machines, following established procedures and work instructions.
Set up manual machines, including selecting and installing appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work holding devices.
Identify and address any deviations from specifications or quality requirements, making necessary adjustments or seeking guidance from supervisors or quality control personnel.
Record and maintain accurate production and inspection data, including measurements, deviations, and non-conformities.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring the proper handling and storage of tools, materials, and equipment.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components, to ensure their proper functioning.
Experience, attributes & skills sought:
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist, including CNC programming, setup, and operation. Experience with multiple CNC machines and controls is desirable.
Proficiency in manual machining techniques, including milling, lathe work, grinding, and general machining.
Strong knowledge of machining principles, tooling selection, cutting parameters, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
Familiarity with CAM software and G-code programming languages for CNC machining.
Proficient in using precision measuring instruments, such as micrometres, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators, to perform accurate inspections.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and specifications
