The Mechanical Design Engineer is required to improve the quality of the manufacturing process using various quality tools. Full training and development in company and manufacturing systems with excellent starting salary

The Role:

  • Working as part of the engineering team to investigate new technologies and manufacturing methods, deliver innovative new products to the market and optimise costs in existing designs.
  • Utilising best practice and experiences to develop product concepts and customer requirements into viable design solutions
  • Development of innovative solutions to industry wide problems.
  • Investigation into materials and manufacturing options to optimise, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
  • Design of tests to evaluate products and solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Guaranteeing deadlines are met to ensure the success of development projects.
  • Management and progress reporting on several small research projects.

The candidate:

  • Higher National Certificates/Diplomas or equivalent from college; with at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills in 3D Design / 2D Drafting (Solid Edge) & Microsoft Suite.
  • Good communication skills to enable cross functional working both internally and externally
  • Experience of new product introduction ideally within a controlled environment

Desirable

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organisation.
  • Experience of design for manufacture and production techniques
  • Experience of managing projects.
  • Experience of working with a remote team both in the UK and abroad
