Lead Engineer

- Salary: £39,000 - £42,000 per annum
- Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00)

Our client, a leader in facilities management, is seeking a Lead Engineer - Electrical Authorised Person to join their team in Gloucester. This role offers the opportunity to work within a high-security environment, delivering exceptional service and maintenance across critical systems.
The Role
As the Lead Engineer, you will:
- Plan and carry out electrical installations, inspections, and testing.
- Perform planned and reactive maintenance, as well as minor project works.
- Respond to incidents to minimise business disruption.
- Ensure safety and operational efficiency across various disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, water systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using the onsite CAFM system.
- Participate in the on-call roster for out-of-hours engineering coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, test, diagnose, and repair process control systems and automatic control devices.
- Respond to defects, faults, and client requests, ensuring root causes are identified and resolved.
- Oversee contractors to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Work towards obtaining Authorised Persons H.V / LV qualifications (if not already attained).
What We’re Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., City & Guilds, NVQ, AM2 2392, 2394, 2395).
- Up-to-date knowledge of the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- AP in HV / LV qualification.
- C&G 2396 (design of electrical circuits).
- Experience in inspecting and testing portable appliance equipment.
- Background in commercial or industrial facilities management service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of BMS (Building Management Systems) and PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance).
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Ability to work under pressure, lead a team, and respond to emergency work situations.
Desirable Skills and Certifications:
- IOSH Managing Safely.
- IPAF/MEWP Licence.
- Emergency Lighting certification.
