Our client is a large local government organisation and looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join their team. This is initially a 3 month contract which may be extended for the right applicant

You will

ER Adviser:

  • Work with the Head of Human Resources/Head of Organisation Development & Recruitment and the HR Business Partners to support service wide innovative workforce management practice to achieve business outcomes
  • Advise leaders and managers in the Council and other partner organisations on employment best practice and on employment law
  • Develop employment policy and guidance.
  • Provide assistance and guidance to line managers to solve specific business delivery and development challenges either on a one-to-one basis or in groups in order to achieve business excellence.
  • To act as a sounding board to other HR/OD team members.
  • Identify opportunities to make proactive changes in work practices that contribute to HR/OD and continuous business improvement by looking for new solutions and innovative ways to solve problems and review whether the changes implemented are effective on an ongoing basis.
  • Work with the HR Business Partners for effective planning and analysis to ensure alignment with business priorities.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Council with partner organisations and customers, particularly with regard to the HR Service’s commercial operations.
  • Liaise, influence and negotiate with trade union and other employee representatives.
  • Work with key stakeholders and customers to ensure solutions meet customer needs.
