Position Available: Electromagnetic Systems Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire (Hybrid)
Salary: Up to £55,000 + Bonus
Experience needed: We are seeking an experienced Electromagnetic Systems Engineer with a strong background ideally within the defence, aerospace or a similar sector. The ideal candidate will have expertise in system design, verification, integration, and electromagnetic capabilities.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Systems Engineer to support various weapon system programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring that the electromagnetic capabilities of a weapon system are fit for purpose. This role requires collaboration with suppliers, customers, and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful development of system designs within project timescales and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the requirements authority and system design lead for elements of a weapon system
- Define and implement system design, integration, and validation strategies
- Conduct system and equipment integration, threat analysis, and modelling & simulation
- Manage technical assurance of system design, performance, and verification
- Contribute to capability assessments and road-mapping activities
- Support the full engineering development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards
- Utilise requirements management tools such as DOORS for effective documentation and tracking
What we need from you:
- Strong understanding of systems engineering methods, toolsets, and processes
- Experience in complex system product development, ideally within defence or aerospace
- Knowledge of Electromagnetic Countermeasures and Electromagnetic Support/Surveillance systems
- Experience in systems integration and verification
- Proficiency in requirements management toolsets such as DOORS
- Eligibility for or possession of DV security clearance
