With a strong market presence and a clear vision for expansion, they are seeking a commercially astute and hands-on Finance Director to play a key role in driving financial strategy, managing risk, and ensuring financial stability as they scale.

Role Overview

As Finance Director, you will be a key member of the leadership team, responsible for shaping the financial strategy, managing acquisition processes and integrating any newly acquired businesses, and providing high-quality financial insights to support decision-making.

You will be both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator, capable of building and leading a finance function that supports rapid growth while maintaining financial discipline.

Responsibilities;

Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy to support its growth plans.

Work closely with the Managing Director and leadership team to assess acquisition opportunities, conduct financial due diligence, and support negotiations.

Lead post-acquisition integration, ensuring financial processes, systems, and reporting are aligned across the business.

Drive commercial decision-making through insightful financial analysis, KPIs and performance metrics.

Identify and manage financial risks, ensuring the business remains robust and agile during its growth phase.

Oversee all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.

Have a hands on approach to the day to day, building and empowering a team but with an eye for detail to ensure accuracy from grass roots upwards.

Key Skills required

Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant experience in a Finance Director role.

Experience in M&A transactions, including due diligence, integration, and financing.

Experience working in an owner-managed business /entrepreneurial environment.

Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance strategic insight with hands-on execution.

Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Familiarity with fast-growing, acquisitive businesses
