Finance Manager

Gloucester (office-based 5 days a week)

£50,000 - £55,000

A site-based Finance Manager role with a well-known, international manufacturing business. A position that will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, leading a small finance team, and ensuring the timely and accurate reporting of financial information to Group. Perfect for a hands-on accountant who wants to work for a growing business.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Owning the month-end close process, ensuring timely, accurate and complete reporting of financial performance.
  • Preparing and submitting monthly management accounts to Group Finance, with clear variance analysis and commentary.
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to financial processes and controls to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Leading, supporting and developing a small team.
  • Working closely with operational and commercial teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for Group Finance and external stakeholders (e.g., auditors, tax advisors).
  • Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including VAT, PAYE, and other HMRC filings.
  • Supporting audit processes and liaising with external auditors during interim and year-end audits

Candidate profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Proven experience in a similar Finance Manager role, ideally within a medium-sized business.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and hands-on experience with month-end close and management reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a small team.
  • Ideally with some experience of manufacturing.
  • Strong process orientation with a track record of driving operational improvements in finance
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience with finance systems (ERP knowledge advantageous).
