Description

The European Financial Reporting Manager is a key role, reporting into the European Finance Director with responsibility across the breadth of financial accounting and reporting. The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that the financial and regulatory reporting of the European Operation (Probo Medical Holdings Ltd, Probo Medical Ltd, Probo Medical SAS, MED Imaging Healthcare group of companies) is completed in a timely and accurate manner and submitted to the USA holding company and the required UK based authorities. The role has responsibility for the effective operation and monitoring of strong financial controls and the promotion of strong balance sheet governance. At times, there will also be the opportunity to be involved in FP&A projects.

  • Lead monthly financial reporting process and review monthly European financial accounts for reasonableness and accuracy.
  • Responsible for the preparation of quarterly VAT returns.
  • Balance sheet ownership and reconciliation. Present Balance Sheet reconciliations to FD on a monthly basis and be able to explain variances, and support for the balances.
  • Contribute to key technical accounting discussions with Finance Director and US Finance
  • Oversee the monthly intercompany reconciliation process (UK < > FR; UK < > USA; FR < > USA) and investigate reconciling items.
  • Prepare and oversee ad hoc financial analysis as required, ensuring all analysis reconciles with the published European financial data
  • Liaise with external Auditors and see through the year end audit. Key point of contact for the audit team.
  • Assist in the production of the annual budget and quarterly forecasting.
  • Monitoring of all controls and identification of risk areas for focus. Cyclical audit of the controls to ensure compliance across the business.
  • Drive a people lead culture of development and high performance.
  • Assisting team with the accounts receivable and payable processes as required, including assisting with problem accounts as they arise.
  • Support and develop junior colleagues.
  • Bring in best practices and use technology to enhance the month end and year end closing processes.
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks associated with the Finance function.

Profile

Experience* Fully qualified chartered or chartered certified accountant with post-qualification experience.* Solid experience of working in a finance team with good understanding of the reporting cycles.* Must have proven experience of preparing or auditing statutory accounts under UK GAAP* Experience with tax provision and compliance work would be an advantage, as well as employee related tax knowledge.

Knowledge, Skills and Understanding

* Strong proficiency with MS Excel. Experience with MS Teams, Sage Intacct, Outlook would be an advantage.* Effective communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders.* Detail orientated, thorough in your work.* Ability to multi-task, deal with complexity and conflicting priorities.* Ability to proactively plan resource and achieve high multi-skilled teams with the agility to meet customer demands
