Finance Manager

Part time - Hours: Up to 20 per week

Salary: £35,000 per annum pro rata

Reporting to The Chair and General Manager you be responsible for the overall running of the finance function. You will have 1 direct report, and will be responsible for overseeing their work, training and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing financial oversight to the organisation
  • Line management responsibilities for 1 team member
  • Reviewing monthly payroll
  • Production of monthly management accounts with analysis for review and discussion by the Board at regular meetings
  • Managing contracts to ensure income is drawn down in a timely and efficient manner
  • Managing the annual budgeting and business planning cycle
  • Managing ongoing services including VAT, audit, banking and investments
  • Ensuring statutory financial responsibilities and reporting requirements are met
  • Managing production of annual accounts through liaison with Auditors
  • Responsibility for ensuring the organisation is following appropriate UK tax, accounting and other appropriate legislation
  • Monitoring, reviewing and managing key risks affecting theorganisation
  • Improving processes and systems and driving a value for money culture
  • Financial aspects of grant applications

Key Skills

  • Experience in a senior financial role and should include payroll and pension management
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders
  • Confidence to represent the organisation at meetings
  • An analytical and strategic thinker with demonstrable experience of planning, prioritising and achieving targets and delivering to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • A recognised financial accounting qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA and experience of using Xero accounting software
