6 Months Fixed Term Contract

Gloucester City Homes (GCH) is an ambitious, dynamic housing association with strong community roots. We are focused on building homes and communities where people can thrive and delivering valued services to our customers.

We are now seeking an Estate Service Worker - someone to provide a professional and effective neighbourhood estates service. This includes gardening, the maintenance of communal areas within blocks, carrying out minor repairs, waste removal, garden services, removal of graffiti, removal of fly tipping and environmental work, making every visit count for our customers. Keeping storage areas clean and tidy, you’ll perform Damp & Mould washes in our customers homes and assist in the movement and maintenance of vehicles.

You’ll have the desire to learn new skills and undertake training with the ability to manage your own workload. You’ll be able to work within a limited degree of supervision/guidance whilst being accountable for individual results and be able to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all work colleagues, contractors and partnering agencies.

We’d like you to…

  • Have experience of garden maintenance and landscaping.
  • Have experience of working alongside a ground’s maintenance team using petrol equipment.
  • Have experience of Health & Safety (Safe working practices, Risk Assessment, COSHH).
  • Have a strong customer focus, able to deal with residents and members of the public.
  • Work well within a team as well as on own initiative.
  • Have a flexible and positive approach.

It is essential to have a UK driving license for this role. A health and safety qualification would be advantageous.
