Position Overview

We are seeking a Technical Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a technical mindset, site experience, and be willing to travel across the UK for site surveys. Experience in smoke ventilation or the fire alarm industry is highly desirable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to combine office-based technical estimating with hands-on site assessments.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating & Costing: Prepare detailed estimates for smoke ventilation systems, considering materials, labour, and project specifications.
Project Assessment: Review technical drawings and project requirements, identifying potential risks.
Site Surveys: Travel to UK sites for surveys and assessments, ensuring accurate data collection.
Technical Liaison: Work closely with sales and project management teams, providing technical expertise throughout projects.
Supplier Coordination: Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
Client Communication: Assist in preparing technical proposals and explaining solutions to clients.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance estimation processes.

Skills & Qualifications:

Experience in the smoke ventilation industry or related fields (e.g., fire alarms).
Technical estimating or project costing experience.
Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
Strong communication skills for technical proposals.
IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office and estimation software.
Willingness to travel for site surveys as needed.
