Job Overview:We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teacher with specific expertise in Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) to join our team at a specialist ASC school in the Gloucestershire area. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting students with ASC, demonstrating a deep understanding of their unique needs, and delivering high-quality, tailored education. The position is available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess effective and engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of students with Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the social, emotional, and academic development of each student.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and interventions as required.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) in collaboration with the school's Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo).
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and work closely with parents and caregivers to enhance the overall support system for each student.

Qualifications:

  • QTS or QTLS is preferred
  • Experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Conditions in a special education setting.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting individuals with ASC.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals.
