Neos are working with a large main dealer within the HGV sector who are looking for an experienced Workshop Controller to join the team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate to join a well known & well established organisation!

The ideal candidate for the role is someone who has worked in HGV sector or a similar position with an Automotive, Agricultural, Plant, Heavy Plant or Quarrying industries. You will have knowledge of the technicalities of these trucks and be able to understand common faults, parts and challenges that come with them!

The day to day role of the Workshop Controller is to be able to liaise with the employers clients & engineers to ensure the best possible customer service! Authorising repairs and servicing to the companies equipment and managing the business' Service Engineers diaries accordingly.

The Role:

  • Ensure adherence to workshop processes for every job.
  • Receive job cards from service reception, estimate job times, and assign tasks to technicians to maximise sold hours and track job progress.
  • Obtain authorisation for any additional work required, either through service reception or directly from the customer.
  • Oversee MOT processes to ensure high-quality workmanship and achieve a high first-time pass rate.
  • Ensure 100% completion sign-off on inspections, guaranteeing that the customer's Operator's license remains safe and legal.
  • Identify all warranty items for each job, ensure replaced parts are labelled, complete necessary documentation, and forward it for further action.

The Candidate:

  • Experienced in HGV, automotive, heavy plant, agricultural machinery, and static plant.
  • Previously worked as a Workshop Controller, Service Controller, Technical Service Controller, or HGV Engineer.
  • Holds a full driving license.
