As an Environmental, Health & Safety Officer, you'll have the chance to make a meaningful contribution by supporting your clients in achieving their objectives and working collaboratively with different groups. Demonstrating expertise in health, safety, environment and quality is essential.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Offer hands-on, technical HSE guidance to the Senior Leadership Team and Department Managers.
  • Assists the business achieve and surpass HSE goals by conducting onsite evaluations and audits and producing comprehensive reports that recommend actionable plans.
  • Uses problem-solving skills to find practical solutions for improvement and embed changes.
  • Uses attention to detail skills to draft professional and succinct reports and documentation. Develop, implement and audit management systems in accordance with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 and ISO50001 standards.
  • Uses interpersonal and active listening skills to maintain healthy relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and customers.
  • Host informative presentations to Department Managers that expand their knowledge on health, safety, environment and quality standards.
  • Maintains intricate knowledge of legislation, guidance and advancements in the fields of health, safety, environment and quality.

Key Skills

Mandatory:

  • Degree or recognised higher qualification in Health and Safety.
  • Hold an intricate knowledge of UK HSE legislation.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Background of implementing management systems to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 50001 standards.
  • Exceptional document writing skills and computer literacy.

Desirable:

  • Further environmental, auditing or training qualifications.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience in high-risk job roles and/or industries.
