As a Night Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping to ensure the welfare and care of young people throughout the evening and night.
What you will be doing
- During your shifts, you will monitor all young people at least every five to fifteen minutes to ensure they are safe and secure. You will also be involved with undertaking social duties, including talking with clients and providing reassurance to enable them to have a good night’s sleep.
- You will be responsible for issuing non prescribed medication and personal hygiene materials, entering bedrooms as necessary.
- It will be key for you to answer buzzers from young people immediately and assist in any way.
- Daily, you will wake the young people and supervise breakfast and room cleaning as required.
- You will need to record and maintain written records when necessary.
What we need from you
- You must have an NVQ Level 2 in a relevant subject area or a good standard of education.
- Given the nature of the role, you must be able to help clients cater for their personal needs in a sensitive and professional manner.
- You should have knowledge or previous experience of dealing with young people who present challenging behaviour.
