Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading company within the energy sector to recruit a General Manager to work across two sites in Gloucester and Dudley.

Reporting to the Operations Director (Energy Division), you will:

• Oversee the safe and efficient operation of two power plants.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Manage site budgets, financial forecasting, and cost control measures.
• Lead and develop a high-performing operations team.
• Monitor plant performance, ensuring operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local authorities and contractors.
• Implement and optimise maintenance strategies to maximise plant reliability and availability.

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A degree in engineering, waste management, or a related discipline.
• Strong technical knowledge of EfW operations and waste management.
• Proven experience in managing EfW or similar industrial facilities.
• Familiarity with SHEQ standards and compliance requirements.
• Financial and budget management experience.
