A primary school with an SEMH inclusion unit. Most students in the inclusion unit have, or are applying for, an EHCP (Education Health and Care Plan). The curriculum is individualised to each pupil and focusses on social skills and self-regulation.
The Role
This is temp-to-perm role. You will be the lead teacher of the resource base. You will be planning and delivering high quality lessons that target students' SEMH needs. You will effectively deploy a small team of SEND teaching assistants. You will also support their professional development.
Main Responsibilities
-Planning, delivering and evaluating lessons
-Adapt teaching according to the students' needs
-Liaise with SENDCo / Senior Leadership Team / External Professionals
-Prepare learning resources
-Support SEND Teaching Assistants
-Write progress reports for individual pupils
-Regularly feedback to parents/carers
Essential Criteria
-QTS
-Understanding of SEND Code of Practice
Desirable Criteria
-Additional SEND qualification(s)
-Prior experience in a specialist provision
