Juice Cheltenham is absolutely thrilled to be supporting a fantastic organisation in their search for a People Partner, based in Gloucester. This is a super exciting opportunity to join a leading brand.

The People Partner will lead the People & Culture department, supporting the HR Director in delivering the company’s people strategy. This role ensures HR practices align with business goals by providing strategic support, managing complex projects, and leading the wider People & Culture team.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the HR Director to shape and deliver the People Strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Lead and support HR projects, including organisational change initiatives, ensuring smooth implementation across departments.
  • Identify and assess people-related needs within the business and recommend solutions that are both strategic and practical.
  • Oversee recruitment policies, processes, and practices to attract top talent.
  • Implement training and talent development strategies that align with business needs, focusing on succession planning and leadership development.
  • Foster a positive culture by supporting managers in developing high-performing teams.
  • Provide expert guidance on performance management, grievance, and disciplinary matters.
  • Support managers with employee relations and complex case management to maintain a productive work environment.
  • Drive performance management initiatives to ensure effective feedback, appraisal processes, and engagement.
  • Oversee remuneration and benefits, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with company budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with employment law and provide updates on legislative changes to the senior management team.
  • Lead internal policy reviews and improvements, ensuring HR policies are effective and in line with best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and service delivery within the HR function.
  • Facilitate and support TUPE transfers as required, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
  • Manage, coach, and develop the People & Culture team, providing training, mentorship, and support for career growth.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and set development goals to enhance team capabilities.
  • Oversee HR operations, including payroll and pension administration, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Provide reports and analysis on HR metrics to the HR Director and senior leadership, enabling data-driven decisions.
  • Contribute to the budget preparation for recruitment, training, and remuneration.

Knowledge, Skills & experience required

  • Demonstrable experience in a generalist lead HR role or HR Business Partner capacity.
  • Proven track record of delivering on a wide range of projects including strategic and operational HR issues;
  • Committed to continuous professional development, keeping abreast of legislative developments and trends;
  • Good working knowledge of employment law with ability to apply pragmatically in the workplace;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others;
  • Able to demonstrate a good grasp of commercial considerations and the "bigger picture" in terms of opportunities, challenges and operational application;
  • Full UK driving license
  • CIPD Level 5 or higher/or equivalent - desirable but not essential
