IT Technician
Location:Gloucester
Hours:37 hours per week (Mon-Thurs 08.30-17.00, Fri 08.30-16.30, with a 1-hour lunch break)
Salary:24,000 - 30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Key Responsibilities of a Junior IT Technician
- Act as the first point of contact for technical issues after training, managing troubleshooting efforts, and ensuring swift resolutions.
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes by facilitating IT setups for new starters and managing offboarding procedures.
- Support employees with technology issues, hardware and software upgrades, and office equipment replacements.
- Maintain IT documentation, including tracking tasks through a ticketing system, developing internal user guides, and updating troubleshooting documents.
- Collaborate on additional projects and tasks as directed by the IT Manager.
- Contribute to the smooth daily operations of the IT department.
Key Skills of a Junior IT Technician
- Solid IT skills and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with fluency in English.
- Ability to remain calm and logical when troubleshooting technical challenges.
- Passion for learning new skills and adapting to changing priorities.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to anticipate potential issues.
- Understanding of Windows operating systems.
- Capability to resolve issues promptly to minimise downtime after training.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment (e.g., switches and servers).
- Familiarity or knowledge of ENTRA/InTune.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with network fundamentals.
- Knowledge of permissions management and administration, including Active Directory.
- Knowledge of servers is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- 20 days of annual leave, plus 8 bank holidays and 1 day of Birthday Leave.
