Network Manager - Gloucester
Salary: Up to £52,000 per annum + Full Benefits

We are seeking a driven and proactive Network Manager to lead the delivery of first-class IT services to stakeholders and users. As a key part of our team, you will ensure the provision of safe, secure, and reliable IT infrastructure, ensuring that the network, systems, and devices are working at optimum levels for the smooth operation of the organisation.

You will play a key role in enabling users to fully benefit from the opportunities that technology can bring, while ensuring cyber security remains robust and that data management is efficient and reliable.

Key Responsibilities for the Network Manager:

  • Manage IT infrastructure: Oversee the organisation's network and digital systems, ensuring they meet user requirements and comply with industry standards.
  • Lead the IT team: Line manage a team of IT Technicians, focusing on professional development and consistent service delivery.
  • Drive IT developments: Lead IT-related developments and actively seek opportunities for innovation and improvement.
  • Provide strategic advice: Support senior leadership with IT development planning, ensuring resources align with organisational goals and trends.
  • Monitor and improve systems: Proactively monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimise resources.
  • Ensure cyber security: Maintain a secure network environment, including regular system testing, activity reviews, and development of a Cyber Security Policy and Incident Response Plan.
  • Oversee hardware and software management: Ensure servers, cloud-based services, and hardware (e.g., CCTV, telephones, AV equipment) are well-maintained and operational.
  • Administer external IT services: Manage externally hosted services such as Microsoft 365 and ensure software licences are in place.
  • Collaborate with marketing: Assist with the management and maintenance of the organisation's website.
  • Manage IT budgets: Work with relevant departments to produce and manage an IT budget.
  • Provide technical support and training: Offer technical support and training to staff and users when needed.


Key Skills & Experience for the Network Manager:

  • Expert IT proficiency: Strong experience in network management, system security, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
  • Leadership experience: Prior team leadership experience is highly desirable, with the ability to manage and motivate others.
  • Excellent communication skills: Ability to work effectively within a team and across departments, maintaining strong working relationships.
  • Problem-solving ability: Capable of working under pressure, prioritising effectively, and resolving technical issues.
  • Technical expertise: Knowledge of Microsoft desktop and server systems, Microsoft Active Directory, Azure, Office 365, and SharePoint.
  • Proactive attitude: A flexible approach to work, with a desire to stay up to date with evolving technology and best practices.
