MERITUS are recruiting for an Industrial Manufacturing Engineer to join our client within aerospace on an initial 6 month contract in Filton. PLEASE NOTE: we are looking for someone who can work a mixture of desk based activities (design) and work with blue collar operators to produce mockups. STRONG CAD EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.
INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING ENGINEER - INSIDE IR35 - £40 PER HOUR - 6 MONTHS - FILTON, GLOUCESTERSHIRE - CAD EXPERIENCE - SINGLE STAGE INTERVIEW PROCESS
The main focus of this role will be on the performance of industrial studies for our client's wing concepts. The studies will be aimed at maturing build concepts and the associated enabling technologies for novel wing structures or system designs.
Responsibilities
- Use of CAD tools to design and validate integration and assembly solutions for system and structural components and deploying them into a wider digital mock up
- Performing research and validation testing for technologies and build/assembly solutions by creating physical prototypes from digital models and testing them on a physical wing mock-up
- Analysis and evaluation of candidate integration and assembly techniques in the context of the wider Industrial System (i.e. impact on factory flowline and the required jigs and tooling)
- Liaison with design office colleagues to contribute towards trade studies for a range of systems and structural integration challenges (covering wing structure, fuel and inerting systems, hydraulics, electrical systems)
Skill Set
Essential
- Use of CAD tools for design purposes; ability to manipulate CAD models
- Knowledge and experience of manufacturing techniques, assembly and fastening techniques and technologies relevant to aircraft design and assembly
- Strong appreciation of aircraft system integration and assembly requirements, industry standards and certification needs
- Knowledge of Industrial Systems for aircraft manufacture
- Knowledge and experience of aircraft design and manufacturing principles
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience of our client's Engineering and Industrial standards and processes would be preferable
