Are you an experienced Property Assistant or Paralegal looking for an exciting new opportunity with a dynamic, full-service law firm? Our client, a respected and growing medium-sized firm, is seeking a skilled professional to join their Residential New Homes Department. If you're passionate about residential conveyancing and want to contribute to a team that deals with new build homes, this is your chance to take the next step in your career!

Job Purpose:As a Property Assistant/Paralegal within the Residential New Homes Department, you will provide crucial support to the Head of Department, Conveyancers, and Junior Paralegals, ensuring the smooth conveyancing of new build homes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Issue quotes, open new files, and onboard clients using the firm’s dedicated app.
  • Respond to client, developer, and broker queries via phone and email, delivering exceptional service at all times.
  • Update developer spreadsheets, worklists, and client progress on OneDrive and the app, keeping all information up to date.
  • Review client documentation, identifying necessary steps for sales and ensuring everything is in place.
  • Conduct Anti-Money Laundering (AML) checks, collect evidence of funds, and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and review draft contract documentation, search requirements, and SDLT forms to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the transaction process, including arranging searches, handling exchange, completion, and post-completion tasks.
  • Submit forms to HMRC, Land Registry, and lenders, ensuring compliance and accuracy throughout the entire process.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and tools, including document management and client portals.
  • Outstanding organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Adaptability with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Previous experience in residential conveyancing is an advantage, but not essential—full training will be provided.
