Location: Gloucester Business Park - Please note, travel to Dungeness 1-3 times a month could occur, along with other sites throughout the UK in the future.

Hours of work: 37 hours per week, 5 days

Our client, a leader in Nuclear Generation require a Training Instructor to join their team based at Gloucester Business Park. Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas within Nuclear Generation, leading and delivering training to groups from 1 to 20 people within a classroom environment, covering a variety of critical subjects to adhere to the high levelled standards set already.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate of the following skills/experience:

  • Hold a UK Driving Licence
  • Previous experience within a classroom environment delivering training material within a relevant discipline is essential.
  • HNC or Higher-level qualification, in a relevant technical subject is desirable
  • Holder of a recognised teaching/training qualification is desirable.
  • Good understanding of the key aspects of nuclear power plant systems and operation is desirable.
  • Experience in human performance and / or nuclear safety culture is desirable.
  • Knowledge/experience of the deployment of the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT ).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with experience in customer and stakeholder relations.
  • Ability to apply current knowledge and adapt to latest technology.
  • Ability to function effectively in a team with strong mentoring and influencing skills.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and solve technical problems.
  • Mobility where required, to deliver relevant training away from the base location.
  • Knowledge of training processes and experience of the delivery of high quality technical/practical training.
  • Knowledge of modern learning methods and media and experience of bringing these in the development and delivery of training.

Role information:

  • Developing and delivering training material.
  • Delivering training in the classroom to expedite learning.
  • Acting as course coordinator for responsible training areas. Leading and delivering training to groups from 1 up to 20 people, depending on the subject and environment.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert for your area and demonstrating a deep understanding of the relevant company standards, becoming the company expert and representative in your areas.
  • Ensuring company values, safety and operational experience are embedded throughout the training, training material and lesson plans.
  • Maintaining relationships within our nuclear family, with differing technologies and Subject Matter Experts for development of material.
  • Fully contributing to the business plan of the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA) and our nuclear family in support of achievement of our company organisational goals
