Role Profile:

Cast UK are supporting a leading supplier of products to the building industry, renowned for delivering high-quality materials to their clients across the UK. As the Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of our goods, including managing our carrier relationships and optimising the distribution of 'ugly freight'-those large, bulky, or awkwardly shaped materials that require careful handling. You will play a key role in ensuring that deliveries are made on time and to the highest standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the logistics function, ensuring cost-effective and timely deliveries.
  • Manage carrier relationships, negotiating rates, and ensuring high service levels.
  • Oversee the distribution of 'ugly freight' and ensure all health and safety standards are met.
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize operations and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, sales, and operations, to enhance the overall supply chain performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency and service levels.
  • Manage a logistics team, providing coaching, development, and performance management.
