This role requires an individual with significant experience in transport managementand a CPC. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all transport regulations, optimisefleet performance, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service standards.Key responsibilities:Operational Management- Oversee the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and effectiveservice delivery- Develop and implement operational policies to enhance efficiency and safety.- Coordinate and manage the scheduling and dispatch of the fleet along with the transportteam.Regulatory Compliance- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including health and safety,environmental policies, and legal requirements.- Maintain up to date knowledge of transport legislation and ensure the companies operationsadhere to all legal standards.Fleet Management- Monitor and optimise the performance of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are well maintainedand service schedules are adhered to.- Implement cost- effective strategies for fleet utilisation and fuel management.Team Leadership- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers and office staff.- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and support the professional developmentof the department.- Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.Customer Service- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained, addressing any issues orcomplaints promptly and effectively.- Work closely with customers to build and maintain business relationships.Financial Management- Manage the transport budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency- Monito and report on key performance indicators in weekly operations meetings.Qualifications and Experience- Proven experience in transport management- Holder of a CPC in road haulage- Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements- Excellent organisational and leadership skills- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously- Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsWhat we offer- Competitive salary and benefits package- Pay increase after probation period -- Opportunities for career development and progression- A supportive and collaborative working environmentFor more details, please contact Hattie at Pertemps Gloucester
