Due to significant success, they are now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the company. Ideally situated in Gloucester this would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing engineer or someone looking to progress within a recognised engineering organisation.More About the Role
  • Process optimization and continuous improvement to drive operational efficiency
  • Project manage improvements, initiatives to improve machine shop OEE, recovery hours & reduce NCRs & tooling cost.
  • Evaluating manufacturing processes. Testing new and existing production procedures
  • Developing effective automated and non-automated systems
  • Problem solves challenges in the manufacturing process, new product introductions, optimise CNC programs and routings.
  • Review/write standard operating procedures to keep the machine shop updated on latest safe & efficient process on metal cutting.
Key Responsibilities 
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency and speed.
  • Introducing lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and streamline workflows through set up reductions, machine cutting parameter & tooling reviews
  • Study production and machine requirements for new parts
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems
  • Design and install / project manage new Capex equipment
  • Organize and manage manufacturing workflows and resources
  • Integrate disparate systems (e.g. equipment handling, transport)
  • Resolve issues and delays in production
  • Collaborate with other engineers, contractors and suppliers
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations
  • Interfacing between operations and engineering on manufacturing issues, ensuring corrective actions are made as quickly and economically as possible and facilitating effective root cause analysis and implementation of actions to prevent recurrence
  • Driving operational efficiency through review and enhancement of procedures, machines and equipment involved in manufacturing processes
  • Developing, evaluating, improving and documenting manufacturing and quality control processes, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and legislation, to enhance cost reduction, optimise production, quality and throughput
  • Reviewing workflow, equipment placement and factory layouts to maximise manufacturing efficiency
  • Coordinating maintenance, calibration and repair services to keep production equipment operational and ensure optimal performance
  • Analysing and reporting on manufacturing processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines and waste management
  • Conduct cost analyses to identify areas for cost reduction without compromising product quality
