Job Title: Plant Engineer
Location: Gloucestershire
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday (Some flexibility required depending on business needs)
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus performance bonus

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Plant Engineer to join our dynamic Manufacturing & Engineering team based at our head office in Gloucestershire. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with CNC/PLC production machinery and be passionate about driving continuous improvement in manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:-
Maintenance & Optimization:
- Perform routine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks, including cleaning, checking, adjusting, and testing production equipment.
- Make repairs to machinery promptly and effectively, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Maintain accurate records of all TPM activities and repairs.

Machinery Operation & Fault Finding:
- Operate and troubleshoot CNC and other production machinery for setup, adjustments, and fault identification.
- Ensure that production equipment is functioning optimally and resolve any issues efficiently.

Training & Support:
- Train machine operators on basic equipment repairs and maintenance, helping foster a proactive approach to equipment care.

Third-Party Liaison:
- Source and liaise with third-party contractors to perform complex repairs or statutory maintenance tasks.

Continuous Improvement:
- Work closely with the Production Management team and Project Engineer to identify and implement continuous improvements in plant operations.
- Participate in ad-hoc activities to improve production processes and plant efficiency.

Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with basic building maintenance and repair tasks across the plant when required.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area by utilizing 5S or similar techniques, ensuring adherence to safety standards.

Cross-Site Support:
- Provide engineering support as needed at the JCK Joinery site in Leicester, ensuring consistency and high standards across locations.
- Mechanical Engineering Qualification or equivalent apprenticeship.
- Proven experience working with CNC/PLC production machinery, including fault finding and repair.
- Familiarity with electrical works (City & Guilds 17th Edition and PAT Testing qualifications are desirable).
- Previous experience in a manufacturing/production environment, ideally in high-volume or bespoke product settings.
- Strong team player with a willingness to contribute and get the job done.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and unsupervised.
