Job Title: Controls Engineer

Our client is seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to develop and support control systems for specialized automated machinery used globally.
Key Responsibilities - Controls EngineerÂ
- Perform PLC, HMI, and Motion Control programming and modifications.
- Configure software and hardware for networked control systems with distributed Input/Output (IO).
- Program and integrate vision systems (such as Cognex) for inspection and measurement.
- Provide control system support for prototype builds, new machines, and existing equipment in the field.
- Ensure compliance with machine safety standards according to international regulations.
- Create support documentation for machine manufacturing, testing, and customer packages.
- Offer customer support and be available for site visits as needed.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing processes, productivity, and quality.
- Consistently adhere to workplace management rules and practices.
Qualifications & Skills - Controls Engineer
- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a Software-related field.
- Proven experience with PLC, HMI, and motion programming, particularly on Rockwell Logix, Safety PLC, Kinetix motion control, Studio 5(Apply online only), and FTViewME. Experience with Siemens systems and TIA Portal is a bonus.
- Familiarity with robotic applications, particularly Yaskawa, is preferred.
- Knowledge of vision systems is advantageous.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Motivated, enthusiastic, and capable of working effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Positive attitude with the ability to adapt and thrive in diverse work environments.
- Supportive and proactive approach to solving technical challenges.
- Flexible and open to change.
- Willingness to travel internationally for customer support (approximately 2-3 weeks per trip, 4-5 times annually, depending on the project).
