Location: Nationwide (Based in Gloucestershire)

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (with flexibility for weekends as required)

Overview:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and personable Site Manager to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction, with hands-on experience in trades or working their way up through the ranks. They value individuals who excel in managing teams, building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues. The Site Manager will be expected to oversee projects in live environments, manage a variety of teams, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
This is a client-facing role, and candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to handle high-pressure situations while maintaining a positive and collaborative working environment. Projects typically last 4-6 weeks.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Assessments & Method Statements: Prepare risk assessments, method statements, and devise safe systems of work to ensure a safe working environment.
Progress Monitoring: Track project progress against the planned schedule, ensuring that deadlines are met.
Quality Inspections: Carry out regular quality inspections to ensure that all work meets the required standards.
Team Management: Co-ordinate and manage both in-house employees and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient working relationships.
Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Maintain ongoing communication with the client, architect, and other professionals involved in the project.
Site Setup: Oversee the correct setup and organisation of the site and manage the logistics of materials and workforce.
Accurate Record Keeping: Maintain accurate site records and reports, documenting any issues or concerns promptly.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure that all health and safety regulations are adhered to at all times, including conducting site inspections and enforcing site safety standards.
Experience and Skills Required:
Relevant Experience: 5-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with a proven background in site management or a trade-based career path.
Trade Experience: A background in construction or trades (e.g., carpentry, decorating) is highly beneficial but not essential.
Strong People Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams and subcontractors effectively.
Client Facing: Comfortable and professional in client-facing situations, with a focus on customer service and relationship building.
Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail, ensuring high-quality work and compliance with health and safety standards.
IT Skills: Proficiency in basic IT tools and project management software.
Certifications Required:
CSCS Card
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) or SSSTS
First Aid Certification
Fire Marshal Certification
Full Driving License: Willingness to travel to various project locations as required.
Flexibility: Ability to work across the UK as required, including managing projects in different locations, with occasional weekend work.
