Principal Engineer / Technical Authority - Stress, Shock and Dynamics

Salary: £60k + overtime

Location: Filton, Frimley, Weymouth, Coventry, Barrow - Hybrid

What you'll be doing - Principal Engineer - Stress, Shock and Dynamics

  • Reviewing, approving and quantifying policies, general technical requirements, data & documents
  • Working with and reviewing documentation generated by the Combat Systems engineering teams
  • Reviewing, developing and approving supplier submitted physical test plans and procedures
  • Review and acceptance of supplier Shock and EGV qualification evidence encompassing classical manual stress calculations, Finite Element Analysis reports and physical test reports

Your skills and experiences - Principal Engineer - Stress, Shock and Dynamics

  • Structural engineering and analysis techniques specifically classical manual stress calculations and various Finite Element Analysis (FEA) techniques
  • Mathcad, Mathematica or similar
  • Experience of the development and management of technical requirements and acceptance activities within one of the following areas: submarine, defence, construction, ships, maritime or similar environment
