Job Role: Design EngineerLocation: GloucesterSalary: £40,000 - £45,000Our client are a leading Engineering manufacturing company currently seeking a Design Engineer to join the team. The ideal candidate will come from a mechanical Design background.Responsibilities 
  • Utilising Severns best practice and experiences to develop product concepts and customer requirements into viable design solutions
  • Development of innovative solutions to industry wide problems.
  • Investigation into materials and manufacturing options to optimise, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
  • Design of tests to evaluate products and solutions meet customer and regulatory requirements
  • Guaranteeing deadlines are met to ensure the success of development projects.
  • Management and progress reporting on a number of small research project
  • Responsible for reporting on project progress
  • Input into exisiting and new product schedule
  • Takes accountability for quality of work produced
  • Gather and analyse information skilfully; develop alternative solutions.
  • Work well in group problem solving situations
  • Use reason even when dealing with emotional topics
Education
  • Higher National Certificates/Diplomas or equivalent from college; with at least 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer Skills in 3D Design / 2D Drafting (Solid Edge) & Microsoft Suite.
  • Good communication skills to enable cross functional working both internally and externally
  • Experience of new product introduction ideally within a controlled environment
