Senior Development Engineer - Laser Specialist

What You Will Do:
- Lead development projects focused on the integration and application of laser technology in manufacturing processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for the use of lasers within the lead acid battery manufacturing industry.
- Design and develop a wide range of standard and special purpose machinery/tooling, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety regulations, and CE standards.
- Conduct design reviews and development meetings, reporting progress to the Product Development Manager and Technical Director.
- Create technical reports and documentation for development projects, alongside engineering component and GA drawings for manufacture and assembly.
- Coach and support Mechanical Engineers in design techniques, departmental processes, and engineering best practices.
What You Will Bring:
- A degree in Engineering or a relevant apprenticeship, backed by 5+ years of experience in a design engineering role.
- Expertise in the application, integration, or design and development of laser technology.
- A strong background in the design of special purpose machinery, preferably within the lead acid battery industry.
- Proven experience in leading product development projects and a thorough understanding of the full product development cycle.
- Proficient CAD skills (SolidWorks preferred), with hands-on experience in build and test processes.
