Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Job Overview

  • Producing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
  • Collaborating with architects, structural engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems into the overall project design.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and environmental considerations.
  • Managing and mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development.
  • Conducting site inspections and liaising with our construction team to ensure successful implementation of projects.
  • Preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and documentation.
  • Providing technical support and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Job Requirements

  • Proven experience in Mechanical and HVAC system design
  • Strong knowledge of Part L Compliance, BREEAM, and thermal analysis
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit is a bonus but not essential)
  • Experience using HevaComp, IES, or TAS software (advantageous)
  • Experience in Stage 4 design, ability to produce Level 5 designs and contribute to Stage 3 projects
  • A background in designing for contractors is highly desirable
  • Practical knowledge/experience more specifically in relation to coordination and practicalities of installation
