Responsibilities:
As a Senior Development Engineer, you will:
- Lead development projects focused on integrating and applying laser technology.
- Identify opportunities for laser applications within existing and new processes.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for laser use in lead acid battery manufacturing.
- Support the design and development of both standard and special machinery.
- Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and CE standards.
- Conduct design reviews and lead development meetings.
- Build and test development equipment to demonstrate compliance.
- Write and execute test plans to support R&D initiatives.
- Report on progress and risks to management.
- Create engineering drawings for manufacture and assembly.
- Coach and support Mechanical Engineers in design techniques and best practises.
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Engineering degree or relevant apprenticeship
- 5+ years of experience in design engineering
- Proven experience in laser technology application and integration
- Experience leading product development projects
- Strong CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
- Hands-on experience with building and testing machinery
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
- Experience in designing special purpose machinery
- Familiarity with the full product development lifecycle
- Experience in producing detailed drawings with geometrical tolerancing
Technologies:

- CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Machinery design and engineering processes
