Responsibilities:
As a Senior Development Engineer, you will:

  • Lead development projects focused on integrating and applying laser technology.
  • Identify opportunities for laser applications within existing and new processes.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for laser use in lead acid battery manufacturing.
  • Support the design and development of both standard and special machinery.
  • Ensure designs comply with safety regulations and CE standards.
  • Conduct design reviews and lead development meetings.
  • Build and test development equipment to demonstrate compliance.
  • Write and execute test plans to support R&D initiatives.
  • Report on progress and risks to management.
  • Create engineering drawings for manufacture and assembly.
  • Coach and support Mechanical Engineers in design techniques and best practises.

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Engineering degree or relevant apprenticeship
  • 5+ years of experience in design engineering
  • Proven experience in laser technology application and integration
  • Experience leading product development projects
  • Strong CAD skills (preferably SolidWorks)
  • Hands-on experience with building and testing machinery

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Experience in designing special purpose machinery
  • Familiarity with the full product development lifecycle
  • Experience in producing detailed drawings with geometrical tolerancing

Technologies:

  • CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Machinery design and engineering processes
