Your new company

Hays Accountancy & Finance are exclusively partnering with a well-established manufacturing group to recruit an experienced and hands-on part-time or full-time Payroll Officer based in their Gloucester, Gloucestershire office. The position is open to Payroll Professionals from either practice or industry, offering flexible working hours. The position will report directly to the Financial Controller and process/manage all payroll processes for the group, along with additional related payroll administration and query resolution. A great opportunity to really take the lead on all payroll processes for the business, becoming a specialist in your field. The position will be tailored around the right payroll professional, open to 3 - 4 days per week or full-time candidates.

Your new role

Key duties will involve start to finish processing of monthly employee payrolls for the group, processing/administrating new starters/leavers, along with processing all statutory payments including SSP, maternity/paternity leave, company sickness, bonus payments, overtime and more. You will be involved in processing all pension processes, including auto-enrolment, dealing with all payroll/pension queries for the group, and supporting payroll process improvement. You will support the production of P11D's, P60's, HMRC processes, along with payroll/HR administration. What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this hands-on part-time or full-time payroll position, you will need experience in a similar role, up-to-date knowledge of payroll legalisation and processes, with a positive can-do attitude. You will be used to managing workloads and meeting deadlines, comfortable using MS Excel, and finance/payroll systems, along with key communication skills to partner internally and externally at all levels. You will be a keen problem-solver with analytical skills and be adaptable to business needs. Used to being hands-on with a positive working approach. It would be advantageous but not essential if you have Sage payroll experience, and have worked as the sole payroll officer for an organisation previously.
