Short Term Contract

Flexible Agile Working

Gloucestershire

This is a short-term project focused contract.

The opportunity: -

Gloucestershire is a rural county planning authority - the gateway to the South West of England. It is responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of land-use planning covering local public infrastructure projects, and minerals and waste management developments.Aligned to the council’s wider reform agenda, the planning service is undergoing structural and cultural change. It is looking to be better equipped, more significant, and influential. Priorities are being re-imagined and planned actions are coming, which need additional technical planning support. A tenacious, enthusiastic, and ambitious planning investigator with experience of working in development management, understanding amenity controls, and some knowledge of enforcement is being sought to deliver a short-term project. This will allow existing day-to-day services to continue and expansion plans to be implemented. The project is a planning investigation into complex land use matters over the county’s mineral and waste infrastructure sites. The successful contractor will be working in a supportive, inclusive, and respectful work space. Professional autonomy and innovative practice are strongly encouraged, as is multi-disciplinary team working and the nurturing of professional partnerships. You'll be supported by other professionals within the County Council and will also work with Gloucestershire district councils, environmental regulators, interest groups, members of the public, and local industry. A common goal exists across the team to work together to bring about high-quality and effective planning outputs in as timely a manner as possible. This opportunity is short-term and focused. However, it represents a great chance to build on and develop existing acquired planning skills and experiences and will unquestionably showcase your talents in a meaningful and impactful way.
