The SchoolA large primary school in Gloucester with an ASD resource base. Staff in the resource base consist of an SEND teacher and specially trained teaching assistants. There is a low pupil to adult ratio, ensuring individual children's needs are met. The school has good public transport links, and a range of local amenities close by. The RoleYou will be working in the ASD resource base, supporting students work towards individual developmental targets. Some of the work will be one-to-one and some will be with small groups. You will mentor some less experienced TAs and support their professional development using a coaching approach. Main Responsibilities

  • Provide highly effective support for students
  • Assist with planning and resourcing
  • Model effective teaching techniques
  • Provide support and guidance to support staff professional development

Essential Criteria/Skills

  • HLTA qualification
  • Very good level of spoken and written English
  • Access to a car and valid driving license
  • Ability to work in a team

Desirable Criteria

  • Previous experience working with children who have SEND/SEMH needs
  • SEND qualification
  • Mentoring/Coaching experience
