Property Assistant - GloucesterSalary: Up to £30,000 (ODE)

Are you an experienced Property Assistant/ Paralegal looking for a new exciting opportunity to join a full-service medium size law firm? Our client is seeking a skilled professional to manage a varied caseload of new home residential conveyancing matters in Bristol.

Job Purpose

As a Property Assistant/ Paralegal in the Residential New Home Department, you will provide essential support to the Head of Department, Conveyancers, and Junior Paralegals, assisting with the conveyancing of new build homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Issuing quotes, opening new files, and onboarding clients via our app.
  • Responding to client, developer, and broker queries via phone and email.
  • Updating developer spreadsheets, worklists, and client progress on OneDrive and the app.
  • Checking client documentation and identifying required procedures related sales.
  • Conducting AML checks, obtaining evidence of funds, and ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Preparing and reviewing draft contract documentation, search requirements, and SDLT forms.
  • Assisting with transaction processes, including arranging searches, exchange, completion, and post-completion tasks.
  • Submitting forms to HMRC, Land Registry, and lenders, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with IT systems and tools.
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Adaptability and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
  • Previous experience in residential conveyancing is beneficial but not essential; full training will be provided.
