Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and process-driven Automotive Process Engineer with expertise in robotics and automation to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in a technical role focused on automation within a manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes process optimization, system efficiency, and continuous improvement, with proficiency in PLC programming, robotics, and HMI systems being essential.
As a key contributor to the team, you will ensure the smooth operation of automated systems, resolve technical challenges, and drive advancements in production processes to meet quality and performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Engineering and Optimization:
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop, implement, and optimize automated systems to streamline production workflows.
- Collaborate with production teams to refine processes and establish best practices for automation and robotics.
Automation Maintenance and Support:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair robotic and automated systems to ensure seamless operation.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Programming and Integration:
- Program and configure PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems to align with production requirements.
- Integrate new technologies and systems, overseeing their testing, commissioning, and deployment.
Diagnostics and Problem Solving:
- Conduct root cause analysis to resolve process inefficiencies and technical issues.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to address machinery malfunctions effectively.
Continuous Improvement:
- Drive process improvement initiatives by reducing cycle times, enhancing product quality, and implementing lean methodologies.
- Proactively identify automation opportunities and propose innovative solutions.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements across all automated systems and processes.
- Promote a culture of safety and operational excellence.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of process changes, system upgrades, and maintenance activities.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports to guide strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a technical role focused on automation within a manufacturing or automotive environment.
- Proven track record in process engineering and troubleshooting automated machinery.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley) and HMI systems.
- Expertise in robotics (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, or similar systems) and automation system integration.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Education:
- Degree or diploma in Process Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, or a related field.
- Other Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a process-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across teams.
- Adaptability to new technologies and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with SCADA systems and industrial networking protocols.
- Knowledge of safety standards and compliance in automated environments.
