Your new companyYou'll be joining a rapidly growing start-up organisation that is leading the way in NPD and Beauty Manufacturing. After seeing growth of c. 400% in 2024 with strong order books for 2025, they are looking for an Assistant Buyer to help them set up the procurement process and ensure stock aligns with sales forecasts. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1-2 years' experience in a Procurement role who is looking to take the next step in their career. Within this role, you'll gain a variety of experience in NPD procurement and have a wide range of opportunities to develop your career further.Your new roleIn this greenfield role, you'll work closely with the Founder and Operations Lead to:

  • Establish procurement process and strategy to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
  • Work closely with the Sales and NPD team to understand sales forecasts and effectively purchase goods in advance
  • Raise purchase orders and work closely with the Accounts Payable team to gather invoices
  • Work closely with the operations team to manage inventory levels
  • Liaise closely with internal stakeholders to ensure procurement processes are in place
  • Communicate with suppliers to negotiate contracts and gain the best value for money

What you'll need to succeed

  • 1-2 years' experience in a procurement role, operating as an Assistant Buyer / Officer / Coordinator
  • CIPS Level 3/4 is desirable, but not essential
  • Strong communication skills and confidence in working closely with stakeholders at varying levels of seniority
  • A hard-working attitude with the ability to adapt to a start-up environment
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Comfortable negotiator with the ability to influence suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to solve complex problems
  • Being able to work both autonomously and collaboratively where necessary
