  • Candidates should possess relevant experience in quantity surveying, civil engineering, and have knowledge of NEC Option A / JCT forms of contracts.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, along with professional qualifications such as MRICS, is required, along with proven experience managing subcontractors.
  • The position offers a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and requires a minimum of several years in a related role.

Our client is looking for an experienced quantity surveyor specialising in civil engineering, ideally with experience in the highway sector.

Duties

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring all aspects are covered.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing regular updates to management.
  • Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimise project costs without compromising quality.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure financial feasibility of designs.
  • Review contracts and agreements to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
  • Maintain detailed records of all financial transactions related to projects.
  • Provide advice on procurement strategies and assist in selecting suppliers and subcontractors.

Experience

  • Experience of NEC Option A / JCT forms of contracts
  • relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, civil engineering/highways
  • Knowledge of negotiating and agreement of cost engineering variations
  • Proven experience of managing subcontractors
  • Cost management and forecasting for large-scale projects.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects effectively while working within tight deadlines.
  • degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field, with relevant professional qualifications (e.g., MRICS or equivalent).
