CPR Recruitment, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an ambitious team. Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be instrumental in ensuring the financial success of multiple projects, managing everything from cost planning to final accounts. You’ll have the autonomy to lead high-value projects, working closely with stakeholders and managing contracts. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead on the preparation of detailed cost estimates, feasibility studies, and budget analysis for new projects, ensuring financial viability from the start.
  • Oversee the tendering process, including preparing tender documentation (bills of quantities, schedules of work) and managing tender analysis and evaluations.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring that agreements are in the company’s best interests.
  • Take ownership of the project’s financials, monitoring expenditure and ensuring it remains in line with agreed budgets. Regularly review and update cost plans to reflect changes in scope or design.
  • Prepare interim valuations, agree on progress payments, and finalise accounts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Manage variations and contractual changes throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure that changes are financially controlled and negotiated efficiently.
  • Produce monthly reports, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections. Report regularly to senior management on project progress, risks, and financial performance.
  • Continuously seek ways to optimise project costs without compromising quality. Proactively recommend cost-saving opportunities and improvements to maximise profitability.
  • Identify and manage potential risks (financial, contractual, etc.) early in the project. Implement robust risk management strategies and ensure they are communicated to the team.
  • Handle disputes related to payment issues, contract variations, or delays, ensuring timely and effective resolution while protecting the company’s interests.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of junior and assistant quantity surveyors. Provide guidance on technical and commercial issues and encourage professional growth within the team.
  • Ensure best practices are followed in cost control, contract management, and project reporting, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Professional accreditation such as MRICS or MCIOB (or working towards it).
  • Experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor role, with a track record of successfully managing high-value, complex construction projects across commercial, residential, or civil sectors.
