Role Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and forward-thinking Business Development Manager to join our Sales Team. This role is critical in a fast-paced environment, contributing to an expanding business at an exciting time in its history.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and target business sectors including broadband, utilities, and government/defence.
  • Explore new telecom market opportunities and present solutions to potential users.
  • Proactively communicate the CW value proposition to clients.
  • Attend industry events and conferences to network and promote products.
  • Build and maintain relationships with new and existing clients to grow revenue.
  • Create and manage sales forecasts, presenting information to senior management.
  • Participate in tender applications and deliver sales presentations.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to find solutions for customers.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Creative and strategic thinker with great initiative.
  • Engaging, enthusiastic, and proactive.
  • Proven track record as a Business Development Manager.
  • Ability to identify new business markets and opportunities.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to quantify and close sales orders from telecom network operators.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Strong leadership and time management skills.
  • Technical understanding to propose solutions based on client requirements.
  • Solid IT skills, including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical analysis software.
  • Ability to research and stay updated on telecom industry trends and standards.

Expectations:

  • Deliver a minimum of £1 million in new business within the first year.
  • Create a business-as-usual revenue run-rate of £2 million per annum by the second year.
  • Strong understanding of the company's products and industry competition.
  • Self-motivated with excellent multitasking abilities.
  • Operate remotely after initial on-site training, with monthly visits to the Gloucester office.

Desirable Skills:

  • Management experience or a degree in marketing, accounting, finance, business management, or business administration.
  • Level 2 diploma in skills for business or Level 3 award in Sales Management.
  • Extensive experience in the telecommunications sector.
