An amazing permanent role has been brought to my attention for an experienced SEN teaching assistant, who is eager and willing to provide the best quality of support to students in Key Stage 4.

This fantastic school based in Gloucester, is part of an alternative provision, with other sites located in Gloucestershire supporting students with Social, emotional mental health needs, in addition to behavioural needs. The school aims to provide a personalised learning experience in an inclusive environment that recognises all members of the community as equals. The headteacher is looking for an applicant that can equip students with resilience, respect and the ability to manage their emotions will enable them to be successful in any classroom or wider social environment.

You will predominantly be based within the classroom offering support to all students, in addition to some 1:1 or small group work. Along with the students, you will be supporting the teacher to manage behaviour and ensure the students are feeling engaged with their learning. Other duties will include helping with lesson preparation and activities that suit the needs of the students. For the students in Key Stage 4 this is an incredibly important time in their life, as they are ready to transition into further education and adult life; we are looking for great role models

The school aims to work collaboratively with their mainstream colleagues to ensure that there is 'right time’ support for all young people. Students who finish their time in school with us, gain a wide range of qualifications and are supported into moving successfully into post-16 places at college, apprenticeships or employment.

A highly skilled team of staff are committed to working with our young people, families and wider partner agencies, to ensure that our children are equipped with the skills and qualifications to move into the next stage of their education journey. With a welcoming, inclusive, purposeful learning environment, we focus on the wider needs of our students, empowering all to be successful.
