Job Purpose:

Integrated Brokerage is responsible for sourcing Adult Social Care services from external care providers both within and beyond Gloucestershire. Together with other teams within the Council and partner organisations, we play a key part in monitoring and paying for those services along with managing the market to ensure market availability and sustainability into the future.

Typical involvement will include:

  • Managing and overseeing the independent provider market for older people and working-age adults.
  • Provide administrative support to contract and senior managers.
  • Collaborate with the broader Brokerage team and colleagues across Adult Social Care to investigate and resolve queries, while also managing the day-to-day operations of the queries inbox.
  • Responsible for maintaining provider information and working with various GCC IT systems. Strong IT skills, particularly extensive experience with Microsoft Excel, are essential for this position. We all work hard and have a common interest in supporting vulnerable people and the organisations we have commissioned to provide them with care and support.
  • Routine office administration tasks including invoicing, filing and servicing the meeting rooms.
  • Undertake telephone and reception duties.
  • Provide general support to the team including input of legal and medical papers, filing, and records.
  • Provide efficient and comprehensive administration for the Safety & Resilience and Environmental Health teams.
  • Ensure high standards of office organization. Maintaining an effective filing and retrieval system ensures that outstanding issues are monitored and resolved.
  • Book and organize appointments for the teams.
  • Input and update data on the computer system in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Efficient and accurate note-taking
  • Creation and editing of professional correspondence

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level II Business Administration OR Customer Service OR three years' relevant administration experience
  • Previous administrative experience is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant administrative or office-related qualifications are a plus.
