Join Gloucestershire County Council in an exciting phase of investment in our Disabled Children’s Service. We are expanding our team and seeking experienced Senior Social Workers / Social Workers dedicated to providing exceptional service and care.
Day-to-Day of the Role:- Work closely with children, young people, and their families, as well as other staff within the service function and partner agencies.
- Promote and carry out statutory duties as required by legislation and guidance.
- Assess the needs of children, young people, and families to plan and implement suitable multi-agency interventions and service provisions.
- Manage a caseload with a high level of complexity and risk, including those children subject to care proceedings and child protection plans.
- Act in a consultative role to less experienced social workers, ensuring reflective practice in all assessments and the development of outcome-focused plans.
- Provide mentoring and specialist consultation or advice to colleagues and other professionals.
- Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families to manage risk and achieve positive outcomes.
- Attend meetings requiring high-level professional input and maintain professional relationships with all stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
- Social Work England registration.
- Recognised qualification in Social Work.
- Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
- Full driving licence and willingness to drive.
- DBS clearance.
- Substantial post-qualifying experience in a statutory children’s services fieldwork team.
- Experience in multi-agency working to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
- Expertise in frameworks for assessment and intervention, and a strong understanding of legislation and statutory frameworks.
- Salary range from £40,476 to £45,718 per annum, depending on the role and experience.
