Join our dedicated team at Gloucestershire County Council in the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) as a Senior Social Worker. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a service committed to delivering outstanding support to children and families.

Day-to-Day of the Role:
  • Manage a caseload with a high level of complexity and risk, including those children subject to care proceedings and child protection plans.
  • Work closely with children, young people, and their families, as well as other staff within the service function and partner agencies, to provide support and protection.
  • Assess the needs of children, young people, and families to plan and implement suitable multi-agency interventions and service provisions to meet needs and review outcomes.
  • Act in a consultative role to less experienced social workers, ensuring reflective practice in all assessments and the development of outcome-focused plans.
  • Provide mentoring and specialist consultation or advice to colleagues and other professionals.
  • Undertake direct work with children, young people, and families to manage risk and achieve sustained and positive outcomes identified in assessments and plans.
  • Attend relevant meetings requiring high-level professional input and maintain professional working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work (MA/MSc/BA/BSc in Social Work, DipSW, CQSW, CSS).
  • Ideally experience within a MASH team.
  • Substantial post-qualifying experience in a statutory children’s services fieldwork team.
  • Ability to apply a critical and ethical understanding of legislation and statutory frameworks.
  • Experience of mentoring and/or supervising the work of others.
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance.
