Join Gloucestershire County Council in an exciting phase as we expand our Disabled Children’s Service. We are seeking dedicated Social Workers who are passionate about making a significant impact in the lives of disabled children and their families.

About the Role

As a Disabled Children’s Social Worker, you will be instrumental in delivering a first-class service to ensure the best outcomes for the children and young people of Gloucestershire. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive relationships with children, their families, colleagues, and partner agencies to provide support and protection for children and young people in need and at risk.
  • Conducting clear, accurate, and holistic assessments of children and their family needs in line with statutory and local guidance.
  • Developing and implementing multi-agency intervention plans that are outcome-focused and meet the needs of the children.
  • Preparing high-quality reports and statements for meetings, legal proceedings, and other professional settings.
  • Maintaining up-to-date and high-quality case files, ensuring compliance with the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Social Work England registration.
  • Recognised qualification in Social Work.
  • Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE).
  • A full driving licence and willingness to drive.
  • DBS clearance.
  • Significant experience in working with children, young people, and families, particularly in a social care setting.
  • Strong understanding of child protection, statutory childcare, and relevant legislation.
