About the Role: As a Team Manager in the Children's Safeguarding Service, you will play a pivotal role in leading and supporting a team of social workers dedicated to safeguarding children. Responsibilities include:

  • Orchestrate and lead a team of social workers within the Children's Safeguarding Service.
  • Align team activities with Children's Services strategic objectives to optimize impact.
  • Ensure unwavering adherence to statutory duties in safeguarding children.
  • Demonstrate a profound understanding of potential risks associated with each case.
  • Provide clear management oversight, guiding the team in navigating complex risk assessments.
  • Effectively manage the day-to-day workflow of the safeguarding team.
  • Implement rigorous quality assurance measures to uphold the highest standards.
  • Conduct thorough observations and reflective supervision to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Contribute actively to the development and refinement of GCC's comprehensive quality assurance framework.
  • Build and foster positive relationships with internal colleagues and external partner agencies.
  • Collaborate seamlessly to ensure support and protection for vulnerable children and young people.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in safeguarding practices.
  • Play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children under our care throughout the County.

Salary and Benefits:

  • 47,573 - 49,590 per annum (subject to experience)
  • Annual retention payment of 2,000
  • Welcome payment of 5,000
  • Hybrid working opportunities (2-3 days in the office)
  • 5 days annual leave, rising to 30.5 days after 5 years of continuous service

About You: To excel in this role, we require the following:

  • Social Work England registration: Essential
  • Proven experience at Senior Social Worker level : Essential
  • Recognized qualification in Social Work : Essential
  • Successful completion of your Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE)
  • Full driving licence and willingness to drive: Essential
  • Enhanced DBS clearance: Essential
